Serco Appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3

Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the Federal government, announced that the Company’s Enterprise Applications organization has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).  The appraisal was performed by The H and W Group.  CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.

Serco’s appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization has successfully adopted process improvement methods and is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.

“CMMI maturity is recognized within the Federal government as a way to measure a Company’s capability to reliably deliver mission-critical software solutions on-time and within-budget,” said Chris Sullivan, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.  “It took long hours and hard work by many people within our organization to earn this credential, and we plan to utilize their tireless efforts by implementing these standards and procedures on future systems development and software engineering programs.”
