Serco’s Tech and Innovation Podcast Explores the Technology-Enabled Services being Delivered to Support FEMA After a Disaster Strikes

Serco, a provider of professional, technology, engineering, and management services, released the latest episode of the Serco Tech and Innovation Podcast featuring Paul Ricciuti, Director of Public Security at Serco. Together with hosts Don Styer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Serco and Michael Arce, Serco External Communications Manager, they explored the impact of the Company’s technology-enabled services that are being delivered in support in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Program. 

As residents in the Midwest and South prepare for hurricane season and the devastating affects following any natural disaster, it’s reassuring to know that there is a dedicated team of nearly 2,000 recovery specialists on standby to aid in the rebuilding process. This podcast episode dives into Serco’s unique position as a technology-enabled services company. "We have a cornucopia of talent. From coastal engineering support to bridge embankment, we have a wide database of engineers and response professionals with hundreds of years of experience,” stated Ricciuti. “Using our Mission Edge software, we seamlessly located and deployed an ice rink engineer to Minnesota, and a museum exhibits engineer to assist with museum in Michigan that was flooded." 

Earlier this year, Serco was awarded a recompete contract to continue delivering technical and professional services in support of the FEMA Public Assistance Technical Assistance Contract. Under the contract, Serco is responsible for 17 states across three regions. The Mid-West region: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The Southern region: Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. And the Western region: Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
