- High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Hardening – Serco has deep expertise in designing and operating HEMP-hardened facilities, from initial design to acceptance testing, construction, equipment upgrades, and implementation of hardness maintenance/hardness surveillance (HM/HS) procedures. The HEMP engineering team is well-versed in the relevant HEMP design requirements.

Our team is experienced with installing and maintaining electronic equipment to support air traffic control (ATC) operations (ground-to-air communications, aviation command and control, surveillance and precision radar, voice communications, aviation weather systems sustainment, and maintenance). We install and integrate ATC, Naval Meteorology & Oceanography Command (METOC), and aviation C5ISR electronic systems.
- Radar and Sensor Upgrades – Serco supports upgrades to a wide range of radar and sensor systems on a global basis to advance situational awareness in an evolving threat environment.
- Space Awareness– Serco operates and maintains systems critical to maintaining space domain awareness, including the Space Fence 2nd generation S-band radar system and the Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODDS) system for the U.S. Space Force. We conduct over 500,000 daily observations with the capability to detect objects 1-200 cm in size within three orbital altitudes (LEO, MEO, GEO). Our team performs laser deconfliction to enable the safe testing and operation of lasers above the horizon while protecting military and civilian assets.
