Hardware Integration Capabilities

Serco builds and delivers "mission ready" I.T., networking, and communications systems adapted to the needs of defense, intelligence, and homeland security customers.

With a strong foundation in systems engineering, we procure the material and then assemble, integrate, and perform acceptance testing for a wide range of C5ISR systems.

Our production methodology allows us to optimize technology to the client's mission requirements, eliminate downstream maintenance issues, and reduce the costs of deployment and sustainment. Errors in the integration and testing of complicated networking gear can substantially impact production schedules and mission readiness. With a lifecycle approach spanning design, installation, and sustainment, Serco understands every critical link in the production chain.

In our work for defense clients, Serco provides equipment burn-in, integration, testing, and validation to find and eliminate any compatibility or failure issues before equipment ever reaches the operational unit, reducing lost time and cost overruns. Our hardware integration services span a full range of systems and operating environments, including:

  • Build-to-print Specifications
  • Connectorization
  • Electrical Fabrication
  • Electronic Assembly
  • Equipment Burn-in
  • Mechanical Fabrication
  • Supply-chain Management
  • Systems Testing and Acceptance

Solutions We Provide

  • Build-to-print Specifications – Serco offers advanced knowledge of managing build-to-print data packages and maintaining accurate configurations throughout the execution of tasks. We translate build-to-print specifications into bills of materials and utilize material requirements planning (MRP) to determine material requirements and maintain configuration data. We can process and maintain hundreds of changes to build-to-print data packages throughout execution.
  • Connectorization – Our technicians offer proven excellence in connectorization within communication racks and assemblies for precise signaling. We have experience cabling equipment racks with 500+ ethernet, fiber, audio, signal, or power cables to specific schematics.
  • Electrical Fabrication – Serco is experienced in designing and fabricating cables and surface mount technology.
  • Electronic Assembly – Serco's electro-mechanical technicians and RF engineers have 20+ years of experience assembling, testing, repairing, fabricating, and tuning antenna systems and RF components.
  • Equipment Burn-in – Our qualified network engineers perform equipment burn-in to verify the operational status and assess equipment utilization and mortality, with experience in equipment burn-in across multiple DoD platforms.
  • Mechanical Fabrication – Our machinists bring 20+ years of experience fabricating aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and advanced composite materials.
  • Supply-chain Management – We have proven success managing task orders with 10,000+ line-item bills of materials utilizing the Costpoint MRP. Our team coordinates on-time delivery of materials, including hardware/consumables, fabricated metals and cables, COTS servers and routers, power supplies, antennas, advanced composites, and SATCOM equipment.
  • Systems Engineering – We offer comprehensive systems engineering support from design to logistics, production, installation, technical support, system-level training, and sustainment.
  • Systems Testing and Acceptance – Serco's test engineers have experience in systems testing and acceptance in various systems, ranging from communications racks to SATCOM antennas. The types of tests we offer include grounding and bonding, power-on, network connectivity, shock, vibe, thermal, and antenna range testing.
