- Serco team celebrates ESA Jupiter Juice mission launch

Serco’s Space team is celebrating the successful launch of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer spacecraft, known as Juice, which departed on 14 April on an eight-year journey to explore Jupiter and three of its icy moons: Ganymede, Callisto and Europa.
Serco has been supporting ESA since the early stages of Juice and has also helped complete the final preparations before launch.
Commenting on the launch Roberto Mulatti, Space Managing Director in Europe said: “We are proud to be playing our part in this important and complex mission. Our teams have been working to support ESA on the programme for many years and we look forward to the next years.”
There are Serco teams working for the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC), who have contributed to managing data to support the mission and at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), where Serco provides the Network Operation Centre services, responsible for the monitoring and control of the ground segment, the operational scheduling, as well as the maintenance & operations of the IT systems and control room infrastructure used to run ESA missions.
