Driven by our Zero Harm vision, we strive to ensure our people, our partners and those in our care are safe and well at the end of every day. Health and safety

We care about the health and safety of all our employees globally.

We recognise the jobs many of us do are challenging and that there is always an element of risk to health and safety while at work.

These risks range from the obvious when working with heavy machinery or hazardous substances to those involving slips, trips and falls, which can occur in all workplaces.

Our vision is Zero Harm and our work is never so urgent or important that we cannot take time to do it safely or with respect to the environment. Wherever we work, we are committed to the prevention of injury, incident, and ill health

A high visibility campaign was launched in 2020 and continues to this day to raise awareness among all of our people about the potential risks to their health and safety – and what they should do to avoid them.

Many incidents are easily avoidable, this campaign ensures our people consider what they are doing in various situations and change their behaviour accordingly, so they are always acting with the health and safety of themselves and those around them in mind.

'Your health and safety matters – always’ is the key message we want to communicate to all employees consistently. It reinforces the message that health and safety never stops. It also reaffirms our commitment to making sure all our people are acting safely.

We will continuously drive towards our Zero Harm vision by:

  • Defining and communicating our strategy, policy and procedures to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and of those to whom we owe a duty of care

  • Assessing and managing health, safety and wellbeing risks including controlling specific occupational health exposures

  • Providing necessary resources and equipment and identifying, training and effectively using competent people, allocating health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities to those who have the necessary skills

  • Meeting and, where possible, exceeding all legal and other requirements that apply

  • Actively encouraging the engagement and input of employees and others to identify, control and manage risk

  • Setting health, safety and wellbeing objectives and thresholds that reflect the strategic plans and the intent to continuously improve

  • Reporting and investigating incidents to identify root causes, preventing recurrence, and acting on investigation findings and ensure that people are treated fairly

  • Regularly reviewing the suitability and effectiveness of our management systems

  • Ensuring, where possible and applicable, that the physical environments that protect our people, and our assets are safe, secure and fit for purpose

  • Collaborating and co-operating with customers, partners, contractors, suppliers where we share, supervise and manage responsibilities, premises and activities

We recognise that the mental, physical and social health and wellbeing of our people is vital to the success of our business and that of our colleagues.

Safe, healthy and thriving colleagues
