The past few months have been really busy for our space teams attending most of the key industry conferences, maintaining a strategic overview of the ever-evolving Global space landscape, and establishing new connections with customers and peers as well as being in the frontline to showcase our progress and contribution to the DestinE Platform, which is now open to registration.

Our International Markets Development Director - Space Grégoire Berry, represented us at two major events in Paris, France. Our core Serco capabilities were a key focus of the conversations, including the growing significance of Space Situational Awareness due to rising space traffic, the role of Earth Observation (EO) in shaping policy, and the crucial focus on ground segment operations and communications.
ESA Industry Space Days 2024 (ISD)
What: Organised by our long-standing client, the European Space Agency - ESA , this event brings together key players from the global space sector. It offers a unique platform for networking, partnership opportunities, and knowledge sharing, with a focus on innovation, technology, and the latest trends in space exploration and commercialization.

EuroGEO Workshop 2024
What: The EuroGEO Workshop 2024 aims to strengthen collaboration in European Earth Observation, aligning with evolving EU and GEO strategies to address global challenges.

Our colleague Vincent Saleh, Data Platform Product Manager, moderated part of the ‘EuroGEO as a Catalyst’ panel session, which focused how EuroGEO can enhance synergies and coordination between Copernicus, the DestinE Platform, and the wider European Earth Observation community.
75th International Astronautical Congress
What: The International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is the world’s largest annual gathering of space professionals, bringing together global experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss advancements in space exploration, science, and technology. Organised by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), the IAC offers a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and showcasing the latest innovations shaping the future of space.

Our space team's colleagues had the honour to spent the week with connecting with like-minded space professionals and experts from institutions, agencies and industries, where discussed the challenges in space and the opportunities towards “Responsible Space for Sustainability”. We have been delighted to meet with our clients and partners to discuss future projects and to put the foundation for new potential collaborations worldwide. 3rd Destination Earth User eXchange
What: The third User eXchange aims to convene current and prospective users of DestinE and developers of the DestinE system. During various sessions the resources available to users will be demonstrated, highlighting how they can benefit.

Our team contribution at this event was unparalleled, Serco and its partners had the chance to engage with the user community, showcase the services offered on the platform, conduct three hands-on training sessions as well as presenting at several keynotes sessions.
On day 1: Alexis Longuet, Space - Business Development Manager for Europe, did a Live demonstration on DestinE Service Platform, see the slides here.
On day 2: at keynote session Interacting with the DestinE Platform and Edge services Matteo Cortese, DestinE Platform Maintenance & Evolution Manager, presented ‘DestinE Platform – Overview of the User Journey (registration, upgrade access process, service registry, support section)’ and Najla Said, Cloud Solution Architect, presented ‘DestinE Platform – Onboarding a New Service (onboarding procedure, scenarios of integration, runtime platform & security benefits)’

SpaceTech Opportunities in the Energy & Sustainability Sectors

Serco Middle East's Head of Space Amar Vora joined a panel session on Space Eastern Ecosystem Key-Players to discuss the key drivers of space growth and focus areas within the energy and sustainability sectors, emphasising the importance of cross-sector collaboration and local training initiatives to build a skilled workforce in the Middle East's space ecosystem.
