Fiona Stanley Hospital wins IPA Award

Western Australia’s Fiona Stanley Hospital has been named winner of the prestigious Government Partnership Excellence Award at Infrastructure Partnerships Australia’s 2013 National Infrastructure Awards in Sydney last night.

Serco Australia and Western Australia’s Department of Health have won the award for the unique partnership that has been forged for the design and delivery of operational services for WA’s most advanced hospital.

When it opens in 2014, the 783-bed Fiona Stanley Hospital will be one of the largest tertiary hospitals in Australia and will provide some of the most complex treatment and care in the world.

Di Mantell, Director of Facilities Management for WA Health, who accepted the award, said:

“I am absolutely delighted that we have been awarded the Government Partnership Excellence Award. We are working in close partnership to create better outcomes for patients.”

David Campbell, Chief Executive of Serco Asia Pacific added:

This includes the selection of $32 million of major medical equipment for the hospital; the design and installation of world-class ICT infrastructure and systems; and design of 28 non-clinical services at the new public hospital.
