Mark was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Serco Asia Pacific in April 2013 following his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in January 2013.
He has extensive international experience in business and operations management, holding numerous senior leadership positions in state-owned, public and private equity business environments.
Prior to joining Serco, Mark was Chief Operating Officer for the China National Bluestar Group based in Beijing. In this role he was responsible for leading the operations of subsidiary companies in the group's $8 billion business portfolio. Prior to working in China, Mark spent 8 years in the United States working on multinational companies including General Electric, after commencing with GE in Australia.
Mark's formal education stems from Applied Science and Business, and includes a Master of Business Administration from the Victoria University.
Peter has extensive experience in the public and private sectors delivering citizen services, customer relations, and transformational management with a commercial focus. Peter has held director-level positions with VicRoads and Service SA, the public facing Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) for the South Australian Government.
Peter holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Australia. He joined the Serco leadership team in 2015.
Heath joined Serco in 2011, and served four years as Managing Director of Immigration and Facility Services before being appointed to his current position. Prior to joining Serco, Heath was Chief Operating Officer for Sodexo Australia and New Zealand, and Chief Executive Officer of Serco Sodexo Defence Services. He has more than twenty years’ experience in senior management positions in medium to large companies at joint ventures and multinational corporations.
Heath brings to the role a strong commercial background and capacity to build effective management teams.
Trish joined Serco in May 2016 and brings extensive experience in health, having held senior roles in both the public and private sectors. Trish has a particular interest in developing partnerships to improve outcomes in the health care system. Her most recent position was Chief Executive Officer of a rural health service in Victoria providing primary, acute, aged care and home based services.
Clint Thomas was appointed as Serco Asia Pacific’s Managing Director, Defence in July 2017 following a distinguished 40-year career in Defence and the Royal Australian Navy as a Maritime Logistics Officer, during which he was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008, awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross, and was awarded a Chief of Defence Commendation for the Defence Integrated Distribution System contract remediation.
As Rear Admiral for the Navy, Clint was previously Commander, Joint Logistics which included specific responsibilities as the Senior Defence Logistician and Strategic Logistics advisor to the Chief of the Defence Force and the Secretary for the Department of Defence, and Manager of all Defence Supply Chain services both within Australia and in direct support of all deployed Operations.
Clint is highly respected by the senior leaders of the Australian Defence Force and has a deep understanding of our customers’ operational requirements.
Garry joined Serco in 2007 and is a recognised leader in all aspects of business development and commercial management. Appointed as Managing Director of Asia in 2019, Garry spearheads Serco’s corporate development activities in the region, building long-term partnerships with governments and private enterprise through the successful delivery, transformation and continuous improvement of essential public services in healthcare, citizen services, transport and facilities management.
During his time with Serco, Garry has overseen the identification, tendering and successful negotiation of complex service contracts worth billions of dollars; including the 23-year contract for the operation of Clarence Correctional Centre, which at the time represented the largest contract ever signed by Serco globally; and the early shaping efforts for Serco’s Fiona Stanley Hospital contract in Western Australia.
Garry is a Mechanical Engineer by background, with a mid-career degree in Business from the University of Newcastle. Prior to joining Serco, Garry has held a diverse range of positions, including considerable experience across the hospital management, facilities management, construction and heavy engineering fields.
Sheela joined Serco in 2015. Working with the Sector Managing Directors, she is focussed on driving profitable growth and sales effectiveness. Sheela brings over 17 years’ experience in outsourcing services sales across Asia Pacific region, with global organisations including Hewlett-Packard and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She is an alumnus of the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW) and University of Calcutta.
Helen joined Serco Asia Pacific as CFO in August 2017, after spending 7 years with the organisation in the United Kingdom. Previous roles at Serco include Head of Commercial for Serco Group, and Finance Director of the Justice and Immigration business in the UK. A highly skilled chartered accountant with a background in government contracting and PFI/PPP deals, having previously worked for Grant Thornton in their Government and Infrastructure advisory team.
Helen has an MA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Julie joined Serco in January 2018 and brings more than 20 years’ experience in human resources. Most recently, Julie served as Director, Talent and Advisory Solutions at Deloitte, where she led the Centre of Excellence within People and Performance. Prior to this, Julie held various human resources leadership roles including Director, People and Capability at Leighton Contractors and as Manager, Human Resources at Endeavour Energy. An alumnus of the University of Newcastle, Julie holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Human Resources and Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
