Mark was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Serco Asia Pacific in April 2013 following his appointment as Chief Operating Officer in January 2013.
He has extensive international experience in business and operations management, holding numerous senior leadership positions in state-owned, public and private equity business environments.
Prior to joining Serco, Mark was Chief Operating Officer for the China National Bluestar Group based in Beijing. In this role he was responsible for leading the operations of subsidiary companies in the group's $8 billion business portfolio. Prior to working in China, Mark spent 8 years in the United States working on multinational companies including General Electric, after commencing with GE in Australia.
Mark's formal education stems from Applied Science and Business, and includes a Master of Business Administration from the Victoria University.
Geoff is an entrepreneurial senior executive with consistent success in starting, building, growing and improving the performance of businesses, both as a senior advisor and as a business leader. His expertise spans corporate innovation and growth, business strategy and execution, and major transformational change as well as operational management and people leadership.
Geoff’s roles have included Managing or Lead Partner positions for global consulting businesses with full operational responsibilities, including building and leading a team of over 350 consultants with revenues of $100m. His most recent role was to lead a team that explored, refined and commercialised new ideas into businesses or products that differentiated and created new revenue streams for a major professional services firm. Over a three-year period his team launched 12 products and three new businesses with net new revenue opportunities of $200m.
Geoff joined Serco in 2019 to lead and drive the growth agenda across Asia Pacific. In this role he is helping the business realise its strategic opportunities to leverage innovation and disruption to grow in new areas, with a particular emphasis on developing and driving the ‘go to market’ strategy for new products and services and/or new marketplaces.
Geoff is also a NED for iSelect; the Chair of a not for profit organisation focused on the emotional wellbeing of children, Uplifting Australia; a member of the Advisory Board for an online car sales business, Mogo; and a mentor to a number of start-ups at Stone & Chalk.
Peter has extensive experience in the public and private sectors delivering citizen services, customer relations, and transformational management with a commercial focus. Peter has held director-level positions with VicRoads and Service SA, the public facing Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) for the South Australian Government.
Peter holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Australia. He joined the Serco leadership team in 2015.
Michael joined Serco in 2012 and served three years as Finance Director for Immigration and Facility Services, then four years as Finance Director for Justice & Immigration before being appointed to his current role in August 2019. Prior to joining Serco, Michael had held senior positions in both the private and public sectors, including Raytheon Australia and the Federal Department of Finance and Administration. He has more than 15 years’ experience working in senior roles for large multi-national organisations in the complex Immigration and Defence sectors.
Michael is tertiary educated, a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from AGSM.
Clint Thomas was appointed as Serco Asia Pacific’s Managing Director, Defence in July 2017 following a distinguished 40-year career in Defence and the Royal Australian Navy as a Maritime Logistics Officer, during which he was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008, awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross, and was awarded a Chief of Defence Commendation for the Defence Integrated Distribution System contract remediation.
As Rear Admiral for the Navy, Clint was previously Commander, Joint Logistics which included specific responsibilities as the Senior Defence Logistician and Strategic Logistics advisor to the Chief of the Defence Force and the Secretary for the Department of Defence, and Manager of all Defence Supply Chain services both within Australia and in direct support of all deployed Operations.
Clint is highly respected by the senior leaders of the Australian Defence Force and has a deep understanding of our customers’ operational requirements.
Garry joined Serco in 2007 and is a recognised leader in all aspects of business development and commercial management. Appointed as Managing Director of Asia in 2019, Garry spearheads Serco’s corporate development activities in the region, building long-term partnerships with governments and private enterprise through the successful delivery, transformation and continuous improvement of essential public services in healthcare, citizen services, transport and facilities management.
During his time with Serco, Garry has overseen the identification, tendering and successful negotiation of complex service contracts worth billions of dollars; including the 23-year contract for the operation of Clarence Correctional Centre, which at the time represented the largest contract ever signed by Serco globally; and the early shaping efforts for Serco’s Fiona Stanley Hospital contract in Western Australia.
Garry is a Mechanical Engineer by background, with a mid-career degree in Business from the University of Newcastle. Prior to joining Serco, Garry has held a diverse range of positions, including considerable experience across the hospital management, facilities management, construction and heavy engineering fields.
Sheela joined Serco in 2015, as Director, Sales & Bids. Working with the Business Unit Managing Directors, she enabled growth of Serco in the Asia Pacific region. In 2019, Sheela was appointed Chief Digital Officer, responsible for delivering Serco’s Asia Pacific digital strategy and adoption of digital technologies to drive growth and customer services.
Sheela brings over 22 years’ experience in sales leadership in technology services and large scale public sector business process services. She has worked across the Asia Pacific region, with global organisations including Hewlett-Packard, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and EMC.
Sheela is an alumnae of the Harvard Business School (Executive Education), and holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW) and a Masters in Economics from the University of Calcutta.
Helen joined Serco Asia Pacific as CFO in August 2017, after spending 7 years with the organisation in the United Kingdom. Previous roles at Serco include Head of Commercial for Serco Group, and Finance Director of the Justice and Immigration business in the UK. A highly skilled chartered accountant with a background in government contracting and PFI/PPP deals, having previously worked for Grant Thornton in their Government and Infrastructure advisory team.
Helen has an MA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Heath joined Serco in 2016 as Associate General Counsel, specialising in Commercial and Governance before becoming General Counsel and Company Secretary in 2018. He has been a practicing legal profession for over 20 years, working across various sectors including media, finance and banking, government and property and infrastructure. Heath has significant experience in all facets of a project's lifecycle, from deal structuring and negotiation, through to project delivery and dispute resolution processes. During his career Heath has held key roles legal and management roles with organisations including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Network 10.
Heath gained his LLM at the University of London and completed his Serco Oxford Management Program, Leadership and Management at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
Julie joined Serco in January 2018 and brings more than 20 years’ experience in human resources. Most recently, Julie served as Director, Talent and Advisory Solutions at Deloitte, where she led the Centre of Excellence within People and Performance. Prior to this, Julie held various human resources leadership roles including Director, People and Capability at Leighton Contractors and as Manager, Human Resources at Endeavour Energy. An alumnus of the University of Newcastle, Julie holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Human Resources and Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
