- FSH Food Drive Program a great success
West Australians in need are a step closer to a Merry Christmas this year, thanks to a highly successful food drive program by the Serco team at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH).
The food drive program, which ran from August to September this year, saw over 400 kilograms of non-perishable food donated to OzHarvest by Serco FSH employees across the business.
OzHarvest, Australia's leading food rescue charity collects quality surplus food and distributes it to people in need while also diverting food waste from landfill.
Taha Bhiwandiwala, Senior HR Consultant at FSH, said the efforts by the team at FSH were testament to Serco’s commitment to supporting the communities in which we operate.
“We are determined to make a positive difference to people’s lives, every day and especially during the festive season. I’m thrilled that the team were so engaged with the food drive. We achieved a great result.”
Ferdinand Purwadi, WA Logistics Manager for OzHarvest thanked the Serco FSH team for their efforts.
“The fabulous food donated through your Food Drive programme will truly make a difference,” he said.
The donated food was distributed to various WA charitable agencies including crisis and transitional homeless service providers, women refuges, youth drop in centres and emergency relief providers.
“The agencies were particularly thrilled to receive the donation,” Ferdinand added.
