Serco announces new social housing contract and Facilities Management BD Director
Published: 8 Oct 2021
Serco has been awarded a Standing Offer Arrangement on a maintenance panel to carry out works on Social Housing residential dwellings in New South Wales through its new Facilities Management Business Unit.
This includes providing maintenance and upgrade works on 65,000 occupied and unoccupied dwellings throughout the Sydney metropolitan area, Central Coast, Newcastle, and Hunter regions. The offer, through our FM specialist, Facilities First, further strengthens Serco’s established position as an integrated Facilities Manager for customers across Australia.
The new contract follows the appointment of Charlie Reilly, Vice Chairman of the Infrastructure & Project Finance Association (IPFA Australia), to the Facilities Management Business Unit senior leadership team as Business Development Director (BDD).
Charlie brings more than 25 years’ leadership experience in facility management with niche expertise in public private partnerships and risk management across a range of industries, nationally and internationally.
The appointment of the key BDD role marks the next stage of Serco’s strategic expansion of its asset and facilities management capabilities and follows the completion of the transition of Facilities First, a national specialist provider of cleaning, maintenance and management services, to Serco. The Facilities Management Business Unit includes the prestigious Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth and recently renewed Melbourne Parks and Gardens contracts.
Serco Asia Pacific CEO, Peter Welling said: “We welcome the opportunity to broaden our work with the New South Wales Government as a trusted partner, delivering essential services to people in social housing through our Facilities Management Business Unit.
“I am also delighted to welcome Charlie Reilly to our Facilities Management team. Charlie’s depth of experience gained from hands-on trade maintenance to major business leadership roles, vision, communication and client relationship skills add to our already strong team. He will be an asset to our customers who are seeking end-to-end FM solutions across Defence, Justice and Immigration, Health, Citizen Services and Transport.”
