Serco bolsters Digital expertise with in-sourcing of service at Fiona Stanley Hospital

Serco’s extensive ICT and Digital capability in hospital facility management has been further bolstered, with the in-sourcing of specialised services at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH).
These services, which include the FSH Service Desk, Network infrastructure, Enterprise Compute and applications teams, have been supported by IT provider, BT, as an integrated function since the Hospital’s commissioning.
The services and remaining workforce transitioned to Serco on 19 August and continue to operate within Serco’s ICT and Digital portfolio.
“Fiona Stanley Hospital is a digital flagship public hospital, and the infrastructure and support services that enable this are managed by our Serco contract team who are based on-site,” said Serco Managing Director Ben Bayot.
“Our focus has always been on supporting the overall services to the hospital staff and patients and this transition further enhances that service.”
Sheela Maji, Chief Digital Officer Serco Asia Pacific, said the integration of ICT services in Serco’s end-to-end facility management across the Hospital had ensured smooth delivery of services and supported major projects such as the Customer Digital Experience and Project Evolve (Network Infrastructure upgrade).
“We are really pleased that the vast majority of the BT team have chosen to join Serco. Everyone’s passion and commitment to the Hospital and customer care is outstanding and the expertise they bring is exceptional,” Ms Maji said.
“Our ICT and Digital team are highly specialised in understanding the complexities of a busy, operational hospital and provide excellent support to clinicians to deliver positive patient outcomes.”
The transition of these services is an important step for Serco’s new Facilities Management Business Unit, which coupled with the acquisition of Facilities First Australia, has deepened our digital capability in delivering end-to-end facility management.
Serco thanks BT for its partnership over the last 10 years and their collaboration in recent months to ensure continued excellence in service delivery during the transition period.
