Published: 25 Aug 2021

Serco Australia recently celebrated 10-years of proudly supporting the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the Middle East under Middle East Logistics and Base Support Services (MELABS) contract, providing crucial base operations and logistics support.

The event, held in line with local COVID-19 health and safety regulations, was attended by various ADF personnel including new Commander JTF 633, Air Commodore David Paddison, CSC, who addressed the Serco team with a message of appreciation.

Acknowledging a successful, long-standing partnership, Air Commodore Paddison said Serco goes above and beyond to support ADF operations in the Middle East to achieve their mission.

MELABS Contract Director Andy Maclean said, “As we celebrate the success of the last 10-years, we look to the future and sincerely hope to continue as a trusted partner to the ADF for many years to come, anywhere in the world where the ADF require us to support their operations, training and capability support activities.

“Serco’s global reach brings best practice from around the world to enhance local operations and deliver effective solutions for our customers,” Mr Maclean said.

MELABS Contract General Manager Shannon Fleming said he was extremely proud of Serco’s decade-long history serving the ADF in the Middle East.

“I am also incredibly proud of our highly capable and professional workforce who are committed to delivering exceptional service every day,” Mr Fleming said.

Serco were presented with a plaque by Air Commodore Paddison which is now proudly on display in the Serco MELABS Headquarters.

As a trusted partner of the ADF, Serco delivers facilities management, critical support services and supports complex operations, exercises and activities, providing a comprehensive range of logistics and base services to support the ADF.

Earlier this year, Serco announced a new integrated Facilities Management (FM) Business Unit designed to elevate the level of operational expertise and delivery in the sector.
