Serco is proud to announce the opening of our new Disability Employment Hub in Dandenong on 18 November 2025. The opening ceremony brought together senior public and private sector Disability Services experts, alongside leading disability inclusion NGOs like the Australian Disability Network (ADN) and Vision Australia.
This milestone comes as Serco celebrates a benchmark-setting achievement: 30% of Serco’s Disability Services workforce have self-disclosed one or more disabilities. The opening of the fully-accessible Employment Hub, which has been designed in collaboration with Vision Australia, demonstrates Serco’s commitment to keeping jobs in Melbourne’s South East, and growing local employment, with plans to increase the Dandenong Disability Services team by more than 25% over the coming months.
Alex Pereira, Director – Government Services, and co-sponsor of Serco’s disability inclusion initiatives, said, “We have a firm goal of becoming Australia’s best workplace for people with disabilities. The opening of our Disability Employment Hub in Dandenong is our next step towards this target, and we are proud to share that this workspace is certified as fully compliant at the Dignified Accessibility standard under the Building Code of Australia.”
Serco Asia Pacific’s CEO Andrew Head, who addressed guests at the opening ceremony, added, “Serco is proud to partner with government and industry bodies to deliver exceptional service to all members of the Australian community with disabilities. The dedication and expertise of the 1,500 people that work in our Disability Services team are critical to ensuring that our clients continue to receive this level of service. Many of our team members are part of the community which Serco Disability Services supports, and we are proud to have achieved a 30% representation.
“From Serco’s new Disability Employment Hub, which will help grow employment locally in Dandenong, to our partnerships with organisations such as the Australian Disability Network and Vision Australia, we are working collaboratively to impact a more inclusive, accessible and empowered future for people of all abilities.”
Serco’s Disability Success Stories digital book launch took place during the opening ceremony for the new office. This new book features the real experiences of people with disabilities, showcasing their candid reflections and artwork. Following the book launch, guests were treated to an original musical performance by a Serco team member with low vision.
A big thank you to everyone who attended the office opening, including the City of Greater Dandenong’s newly-elected Mayor, Councillor Sophie Tan, for her inspiring address to attendees. Serco looks forward to continuing to support the City of Greater Dandenong, and all people with disabilities across Australia.
