Celebrating Serco Nurses on International Nurses Day

Published: 12 May 2026

On International Nurses Day, we extend our thanks to every nurse making a difference throughout Serco and our communities.

The compassion, resilience and clinical leadership you demonstrate make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals, families and communities each and every day. ❤️‍🩹

This year, the theme for International Nurses Day is: "Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives." The Serco team pays tribute in a special way today to the vital role nursing professionals play in strengthening health systems and supporting healthier communities, as we celebrate the extraordinary contribution of Serco’s nursing workforce across the Asia Pacific region.

At the centre of Serco’s nursing model is a powerful truth: great care starts with great people. Our nurses bring deep clinical expertise, sound judgement and empathy to every interaction, ensuring every person in their care feels heard, supported and safe.

Serco nurses deliver care in some of the most complex and demanding settings. Whether providing frontline clinical care, supporting rehabilitation and reintegration, or delivering trusted health advice around the clock, they are united by a shared commitment to supporting the lives of those to whom they provide care. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏼

Prof. Derrick Tin, Serco AsPac’s Chief Medical Officer, said Serco’s nursing workforce forms part of a vital clinical team of healthcare professionals delivering critical services across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

"Professionalism, care and commitment are at the heart of the work our nurses deliver across Asia Pacific," he says.

"Every day, they bring a depth of clinical expertise and compassion to environments where care is often delivered under complexity and pressure, ensuring people receive the support they need at the moments that matter most.

"As healthcare continues to evolve, it is their leadership, adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement that will help shape more resilient and responsive health systems."

Dr Tin adds that Serco's nurses are not only delivering care, but are contributing to stronger models of care that prioritise safety, consistency and positive patient outcomes. 🏥

"We know that achieving the best outcomes for those in our care starts with supporting the people who deliver it," he shares.

"That means investing in our workforce, fostering environments where our nurses feel supported, valued and empowered, and ensuring they have the capability and confidence to perform at their best.

"When our people thrive, so too do the communities we serve.

"Through this, we continue to strengthen a model of care that brings together clinical excellence, teamwork and purpose, ensuring Serco delivers safe, effective and person-centred care, now and into the future."
