The Royal Australian Navy’s International Fleet Review: seamless support delivered by Serco’s Defence Marine Support Services team.
Serco’s Defence Marine Support Services (DMSS) team proudly supported the successful delivery of the Royal Australian Navy’s recent International Fleet Review on Sydney Harbour, marking 125 years of Australian Navy service and honouring generations of sailors who have defended Australia’s interests and strengthened international partnerships.
The Fleet Review represented one of the most significant naval events held in Sydney Harbour in more than a decade, bringing together 34 naval vessels from 19 nations, alongside veterans, Defence families and members of the public. The scale and complexity of the event underscored the importance of close coordination, operational precision and trusted industry partnership.
Operating behind the scenes, Serco’s DMSS workforce played an integral role in enabling safe, efficient and well‑coordinated harbour operations throughout both the planning and execution phases. Crews delivered passenger transfers, coordinated refuelling activities and provided continuous on‑water logistics support to visiting international vessels, ensuring all operations were conducted in line with Defence and international standards.
Serco’s shore‑based teams were co‑located at the Navy’s operational hub, and the DMSS crews worked extended hours on the water to support the needs of Defence throughout the Review period.
Today, we thank all those involved for their professionalism, flexibility and attention to detail, which were central to the successful delivery of an event of this scale, supporting both ceremonial requirements and contemporary operational demands.
