We are committed to net zero by 2050 and will be reviewing our interim targets in 2022 to take account of:
- COP26 climate change conference outputs and anticipated raised ambition levels
- Increasing expectations and requirements on strategic suppliers to global governments
- Updates to the Science Based Target Initiative guidance and methodologies for net zero target setting
- Our newly published Sustainable Procurement charter
We recognise the need to work collaboratively across our value chain to collectively work toward net zero. The nature of our global operations means there is different levels of maturity in our markets in terms of policy and net zero opportunity pathways therefore we are tailoring our approach across our chosen geographies and markets. For example in the UK we have published an Carbon Reduction Plan which specifically covers our UK operations. This Carbon Reduction Plan sets out our interim targets on our journey to net zero and our progress and plans to reduce and avoid carbon to meet these targets.
