Published: 14 Oct 2013

Serco, the international services company, has been recognised at the EMC Transformers Awards in Mumbai for its deployment of a Storage Consolidation solution. The EMC Transformers Awards identify and recognise the changes being brought in Indian enterprises through the innovative use of IT.

Developed in-house, Serco's deployment comprised a data storage solution for a distributed environment intended to reduce consumption of all power consuming factors such as servers and storage boxes.  This solution provides a discrete data centre and network across all locations and various platforms designed to reduce power consumption and consolidate data storage.

Susir Kumar, CEO of Serco Global Services, said: "With the ever increasing explosion of electronic data, managing data storage for performance, reliability and scalability becomes indispensable. Understanding this challenge, we are constantly striving to develop, innovate and deploy solutions that add value to our clients. Storage Consolidation has been one of several initiatives which have achieved an excellent outcome for us and we are pleased to be felicitated for our efforts by EMC."

The EMC Transformers Awards recognise the changes being brought in Indian enterprises through the smart and judicious use of IT. Serco's innovative solution has helped organisations devise a common platform to allocate and manage growing demands for data storage, helping them reduce administrative effort by establishing a single management console.
