- Serco AMEAA division restructuring
Serco Group plc (Serco), the international service company, today announces that its AMEAA division (Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australasia) will be restructured. The AMEAA regional management office in Hong Kong will be closed, and the Middle East business (led by David Greer) and the Australia, New Zealand and Asia business (led by Mark Irwin) will report to Rupert Soames, Group Chief Executive Officer, and to Ed Casey in his capacity as Group Chief Operating Officer. This will simplify and reduce the cost of our management structure. The transition to the new structure is underway and an official handover will take place on 1 July 2014.
The full transition is expected to be completed by the end of September 2014. The current AMEAA Chief Executive Officer David Campbell, who has already extended his service beyond his planned retirement date, will retire at the end of 2014 after more than 20 years distinguished service to the Group.
Rupert Soames, Serco Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "This change will simplify the management structure, reduce cost, and give our important growth markets in the Middle East and Australia greater visibility. I would like to thank the AMEAA Executive Team for their leadership and significant contribution to the Group's success. I would also like to wish David Campbell a long and happy retirement, and thank him for his contribution to Serco's success over many years."
