Serco Wins the Road Safety Award at the Global Infrastructure Congress (GIC)

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 5th April 2018, Serco Middle East received an Acknowledgment Award for their dedicated road safety initiatives providing industry solutions that can be widely adopted to reduce road accidents and fatalities across the Middle East at the Global Infrastructure Congress (GIC).

The award was presented to Serco Middle East’s CEO, David Greer by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, UAE, who opened the 2 day event on April 2nd, 2018 by addressing the key goals and vision of infrastructure development projects in the UAE.

The GIC awards aim to recognise the best ideas, initiatives, projects and solutions that enable and showcase future-ready and sustainable infrastructure; the GIC awards not only recognise but also promote the winners as global leaders.

Laura Kelly, Assurance Director for Serco Middle East stated “Whilst we celebrate this recognition of our Road Safety campaign, we must not forget that our mission is not done. The dangers of travelling on roads is ever present and we must all take responsibility for making the roads a safer place by driving safely, wearing seatbelts and following the road rules, whether you are a driver or a passenger, we must all behave in a safe manner”

Serco Middle East has been pioneering and promoting Road Safety for several years and promotes Road Safety all year round amongst staff and contractors with various initiatives that have contributed to the reduction in road accidents affecting employees. Working in partnership with RoadSafetyUAE, Serco Middle East has been recognised as a leader in road safety and the Company hosts an annual Road Safety Day every year where the local police along with various other companies and partners are invited to present, share and discuss their various road safety initiatives, all in an effort to improve the safety of local roads and road users.
