Serco partners with “Takalam” to support university students' mental wellbeing

Serco has announced its continued commitment to giving back to society by sponsoring a university programme in collaboration with Takalam, an award-winning mental well-being platform based at Hub71. The programme is designed to benefit university students and provide them with the tools and support they need to become resilient future leaders.
As part of its wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, Serco is partnering with Takalam to provide more than 10,000 university students with a safe space to talk about their mental health and emotional challenges, and to learn practical skills to unlock their full potential and increase performance levels.
Through the Takalam university programme, in collaboration with Serco, a series of webinars will be provided to some UAE based universities. The webinars will cover topics including time management and exam pressure, fear of public speaking, self-care and self-compassion, stress and anger management, coping strategies, nutrition counseling and other subjects that aim to improve students' well-being throughout their academic journey.
Commenting on the collaboration, Phil Malem, CEO at Serco Middle East said:
“As part of our wider nationalisation goals, we wanted to look at how we could support young people locally even before they take that first step on the ladder into their professional lives. In partnering with Takalam we are providing resources and tools to help them to protect their mental health right now, and also equipping them with valuable tools they can take forward into their future.”
