Serco Middle East has been delivering a range of asset and facilities management services to Zayed University on behalf of Mubadala Development Company since construction completion and handover in August 2011.
The Zayed University campus, which is gender segregated, comprises of 187 acres, 28 buildings and a built area of 220,000sqm. The assets managed by Serco include a variety of academic facilities with technology-driven teaching aids including smart boards and video conferencing. Academic spaces are supported by a beautifully designed award-winning shared library, a convention centre complete with multipurpose halls, conference facilities and an auditorium. Sports facilities include gymnasiums, various fitness suites and a swimming pool.
Core services Serco provides to the university are: asset management, CAFM operations, IT support, procurement, helpdesk, security, cleaning, pest control and landscaping.
In addition to the core service delivery, Serco has developed environmentally friendly solutions, one of which is a fully sustainable solar-powered nursery, producing indigenous trees and plants for soft landscaping services which have provided significant savings for the university. Fully automated lighting controls and wind sensor water features are examples of the modern technology that Serco manages at Zayed University.
Serco seeks to be a world leader in asset management, supported by the latest technology. Asset management is at the very heart of what Serco delivers at the university as part of a zero-based asset management plan that is supported by our CAFM system, enabling accurate lifecycle modelling and forecasting. Using this technology, Serco is able to accurately plan the lifecycle of assets for the entire 25-year contract period. Supporting this, Serco continues to invest in formal asset management accreditation for all managers and key staff to ensure best-in-class service delivery at the university.

Zayed University Abu Dhabi Campus is a state-of-the-art, purpose designed academic facility constructed and operated under a Private Public Partnership (PPP), 25 year concession agreement which is managed by Serco.
