Serco’s International Fire Training Centre is presented with the Queen’s Award for Export by the Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham

The Serco International Fire Training Centre (IFTC) in Teesside, one of the world's leading aviation fire training centres, is delighted to announce that it has been formally presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise  International Trade,  by the Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham, Mrs Sue Snowden.

This presentation follows the announcement made on Friday 21 April 2017, when Serco’s IFTC won the Queens Award for Enterprise International Trade. This award recognises companies for outstanding achievements in exports and for contributing to the international reputation of the UK.

Serco’s IFTC has been achieving export success since 1996 and has developed the site since then to train professional and auxiliary firefighters from across the world in the theory and practical application of emergency resilience, fire-fighting, rescue and incident command.  In the last 12 months, Serco’s IFTC has trained delegates from NATO, Luxembourg, the United Nations, Germany, Poland, and Greece.

Gary Watson, Serco’s Business Operations Manager at IFTC said:  “We are very pleased to have been presented with the Queens Award for Enterprise International Trade from H.M. Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham. Thanks to the hard work, commitment and professionalism of the staff at the IFTC we are been able to train around 10,000 delegates from across the globe each year and position the site as one of the world’s leading aviation training centres.”
