- Caledonian Sleeper opens three new lounges at Scottish stations
Caledonian Sleeper guests are to benefit from three newly-opened lounges at key stations across Scotland.
As part of a long-term strategy – and with the help of the Scottish Stations Investment Fund – Caledonian Sleeper has undertaken major changes at various stations.
This week, guest lounges were officially opened in Dundee, Fort William and Leuchars, three of the most popular stations for the overnight rail service.
The guest lounges all have accessible shower and toilet facilities, while Caledonian Sleeper hosts will be on hand to serve drinks and snacks to guests ahead of and after their journey.
Graham Kelly, Serco’s Guest Experience Director at Caledonian Sleeper, said: “Our absolute priority is to ensure Caledonian Sleeper guests enjoy an unrivalled experience and that extends beyond the train journey itself.
“Guests expect and receive first class hospitality on board, and now they will be able to enjoy the same treatment either before they set off or after arriving at their destination. These new lounges underscore our commitment to the stations we serve and will help ensure the journey of a night time.”
Caledonian Sleeper is also creating guest lounges in Stirling and Perth, both of which are scheduled to open later this summer. The rail service also operates a guest lounge in Inverness.
Later this year, Caledonian Sleeper will be transformed when it begins to introduce its £100m fleet of new trains. Designed to suit the modern-day traveller, there will be a range of accommodation options including en-suite rooms.
