Serco Leisure - building stronger communities together

Providing leisure services on behalf of Community Leisure Trusts, local authorities and Sport England. Our mission is to encourage our communities to be active. As part of this we support, motivate and educate individuals on the benefit that regular movement provides towards positive mental health, wellbeing and happiness. We also provide world-class facilities for elite athletes, supporting them with resources to help in their pursuit of brilliance.

We are one of the UK’s leading national operators of indoor and outdoor leisure spaces from elite sporting facilities through to local community leisure centres.

Working collaboratively with independent charitable trusts including our national partner, MORE Leisure Community Trust, we operate 49 facilities on behalf of 17 local authorities and partner with Wheelpower at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. We also work with Sport England to manage their elite national sports centres at Bisham Abbey, Lilleshall and the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

How we can help

Working side-by-side through jointly funded investment, we can create sustainable and inclusive, affordable facilities. Our customer-centric approach puts the community at the heart of our operations. This ensures our offering appeals to the citizens we serve within all segments of society and budgetary restraints are recognised. We pride ourselves on providing clean, safe and welcoming spaces for the public to visit in their leisure time.

Strong foundations

As part of the Serco Group, a FTSE 250 values-based company with a strong public service ethos, proven processes and operational expertise informed by over 50 years’ experience delivering essential services for government and public sector customers.

We understand the complexities of working in partnership with public bodies, and we are always looking to find innovative solutions in the ever-changing leisure landscape.

Our resilience

Our reputation for delivering high quality services in the sector is what we strive to maintain.

Amongst our many awards and accreditations, we benchmark our service delivery against QUEST, the sport and leisure industry’s quality scheme. Many of our centres have achieved an excellent or outstanding rating, putting them in the top 1% of leisure facilities in the UK.

We are continually focused on reducing the impact our facilities have on the environment. We are the only leisure provider in the UK that has been awarded ISO 14001 accreditation.

“Thank you to Serco Leisure and specifically the teams at Lilleshall and Bisham for all the efforts made to ensure a safe and successful re opening at the National Centres.

As you know, we understand the operational arrangements, so you cannot hide from us the amount of work and dedication it takes to mobilise the service delivery on these complex sites, we understand how much has gone into this.

Thank you, it was very important that things went well. This cannot be done without a dedicated and supportive team and I would be very keen to ensure that our appreciation is realised from everyone who has been part of the planning and the front-line delivery. It is an exemplar to the sector in very challenging circumstances.”
