Supporting local communities
By investing in local businesses and local jobs, fundraising and volunteering, we can reduce economic inequality in our local communities – 49% of our supply chain consists of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Being a responsible business also means contributing to the sustainability and wellbeing of society wherever we operate. The Serco Foundation is a charitable trust, established in 2012, which sponsors charitable causes, research bodies, and social enterprises to improve public services and support vulnerable people around the world.
Helping our people fulfil their potential
We are committed to making Serco a place where people are proud to work, and have the support to fulfil their potential so we can continue to deliver first-class public services for our customers. This means investing in continuous professional development so we can provide opportunties for career progression.
We recognise that having a safe and healthy work environment is vital to achieving this, and we are proud to have received the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) accreditation for health and wellbeing.
Delivering above and beyond
Going that extra mile to support the local communities we work in is firmly embedded into Serco culture. From fundraising for local hospices, to one-to-one reading support for children through our volunteering partnership with the Chapter One charity, to providing mentoring for students with additional needs, our employees willingly give up their time to support causes close to their hearts.
