We operate in three main segments:
Airport and Fire Services
Serco is the only significant non-government provider of air navigation services in the world and is the only commercial provider to encompass the three disciplines of tower operations, approach control, and en-route centres to ensure 24/7operations. We provide air traffic control (ATC) to the world’s largest commercial air hub, Dubai Airport, as well as to small regional airports, employing over 800 air traffic controllers that coordinate over 9.5 million aircraft operations across the globe annually. Working with our aviation customers, we are experienced in building domestic air traffic control capacity to support air traffic growth. We are also the largest private sector provider of ATC services in the world and help to keep the oil industry running in all weathers at the UK’s most northerly airport, Scatsta in the Shetland Islands.
Fire and rescue services are a crucial element to our portfolio and our International Fire Training Centre (IFTC) has, over many decades, developed a reputation for excellence in delivering authentic firefighter training and related services to the UK military and civilian clients from around the world.

Integrated Operational Support
Serco provides integrated and cost-effective support to military operations in the home base to enable delivery of the Whole Force, with proven specialist facilities management and service integration capabilities. As the primary provider of support to the RAF, we have a broad array of specialist capabilities that, combined with commercial innovation and productivity enhancement, deliver market leading integrated operational solutions. Operating around the clock, we survey airspace for the deterrence and detection of ballistic missile launches. We provide 24/7 services every day of the year to maintain the UKs operational capability.

Technical Support Services
We are at the heart of the UK’s defence capability, including enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of Merlin helicopter Depth Pulse lines, providing services to Tornado, Typhoon, Chinook and Hercules engines, and carrying out high-level diagnostic tests on weapons and electronic warfare equipment.
We provide technical support services to many of the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to help keep helicopters, fighters, transport and training aircraft in the air, as well as direct regulated technical services for a variety of training and support aircraft types.
We also provide Surface Finish services to the Aviation sector and most of the UK military’s aircraft, including the Red Arrows.
