- New CEO for Serco's UK Central Government division
Serco is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Craven as the new Chief Executive Officer for its UK Central Government division, which in 2013 had revenues of £1.6bn and employs over 23,000 people. Kevin will join Serco on September 1, 2014 and will be a member of the Group's Executive Committee.
Kevin is joining from Balfour Beatty where, for the last four years, he has been the CEO of Balfour Beatty Services. In this role, he has been responsible for 16,000 employees, leading a business with revenues of over £1.6bn, covering sectors such as facilities management, rail, highways and utilities. Before joining Balfour Beatty, Kevin was the Managing Director for Healthcare, Education & Defence at Aramark, and the Managing Director of Transport & Travel for Sodexo.
Kevin also sits on the Executive Committee of Balfour Beatty, a world class infrastructure services business operating in over 80 countries, and sits on the CBI's Public Services Strategy Board.
Rupert Soames, Serco Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "I am absolutely delighted that Kevin will be joining us. He has a strong track record both in growing businesses and developing strong teams. He is well known to many of our Central Government customers, and his appointment is a further important step in delivering our corporate renewal plan. I would like to put on record my thanks to Bob McGuiness who has stayed on beyond his planned retirement date to lead our Central Government business on an interim basis and who has done a first-class job in that role."
Kevin Craven said: "I am extremely excited to be joining Serco. I see real potential for the business to move forward and grow with a unique portfolio of services to Central Government."
