- New Contract Director appointed at HMP Kilmarnock
Michael Guy has taken over as Serco’s new Custodial Operations Director at HMP Kilmarnock. Michael is a highly respected and experienced Prison Director and comes to Kilmarnock from HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire where he has worked for the past two years.
Michael originally started working at HMP Kilmarnock in 1998 prior to its opening and carried out a number of managerial roles before leaving in 2008 to take up the role of Deputy Director at Colnbrook IRC, later progressing to Director.
Commenting on appointment, Michael said: “I’m extremely proud and excited to be returning to HMP Kilmarnock as Contract Operations Director. This prison has an outstanding reputation and I’m really looking forward to continuing the fantastic work that the prison staff do to reduce reoffending.
Craig Thomson, who has run HMP Kilmarnock for the past two years added: “I’m delighted that Michael has been appointed and I wish him every success with support from the excellent team we have in place at HMP Kilmarnock.”
Craig is moving to take up a new role at HMP Thameside in London.
