Serco Leisure secures five-year extension to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council contract

Serco Leisure has successfully secured a five-year extension to its contract with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to manage three major leisure sites in the Borough in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust.
As part of the extension, which runs until December 2022, Serco Leisure and Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust will upgrade the existing facilities at all three sites as well as introducing a range of new features designed to meet the changing needs of the local community. Planned improvements include:
- Installing a state-of-the-art 40-station gym at Tadley Pool, which is expected to attract around 1,200 new members.
- Adding an 18 hole family adventure golf course at Basingstoke Golf course, helping to encourage more children to take up the sport, as well as carrying out a modernisation of the driving range.
- Refurbishing the gym and studio at the Basingstoke Aquadrome with brand new equipment, and expanding it to offer 130 stations.

Cabinet Member for Communities and Community Safety at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Cllr Simon Bound said:
“We are committed to working in partnership to provide high quality facilities and great service for the Borough. By extending this contract and investing in these facilities the borough will benefit from a £5 million package of improvements including new state-of-the art gym at Tadley, family adventure golf course and a refurbished gym at the Aquadrome.”
