The role of a Job Coach

The Restart Scheme aims to optimise the success of our participants tailoring support to their needs, motivating and coaching, and providing a safe but challenging environment in which Participants can develop the positive mindset and practical skills to succeed.

We recognise that every Participant’s journey back into work is different so our approach is tailored to meet the needs of each individual, enabling self-starters with a history of work to flourish more quickly, whilst also creating a viable pathway for those with additional support requirements.

What you'll be doing

As a Restart Scheme Job Coach, you will use a variety of coaching strategies to guide and develop individuals toward successfull outcomes by building strong, collaborative working relationships based on trust and a commitment to assist them in their pursuit of work.

The role:

Your everyday role will include a wide range of activities including delivering 1-2-1 and group sessions, job search support, liaising with specialist provision and individualised coaching to ensure that all Participants on your caseload receive the necessary guidance, support, and assistance to move towards and into sustainable employment.

The skills you'll need:

To be successful in this role you will need to be a confident and empathetic communicator with demonstrable history of coaching or influencing along with excellent organisational and time management skills. Working independently and as part of a larger team you will be goal oriented and proactive with a passion for empowering participants to make positive change. You will have experience of meeting and exceeding personal performance targets and key performance indicators.
