What Serco can offer you

Serco is a FTSE 250 company with over 400 sites and 30,000 people in the UK alone. And whilst not everyone has heard of us, the services we provide touch the lives of millions of people every year - from the people who use the train and ferry services we operate to the hospitals we support, the prisons we run, to our network of leisure centre contracts, and the household bins we empty. Our contact centres also provide customer service on behalf of our government clients.

With a supportive team around you, you will be encouraged to use your initiative, take on important responsibilities and gain practical operational experience working at the frontline on our contracts or within our busy functional teams. You will also be partnered with a mentor who will provide you with additional support and guidance as you develop and grow in your career.

A place you can make a difference

The services we provide are often of critical importance to the communities and nations that we serve.  So not only will you be doing interesting work that matters you’ll also be engaged in the real and pressing challenges of delivering those services. You’ll have the autonomy and tools to innovate and make a personal impact on your fast-track to an operational management or functional career which will be wrapped around in excellent support to help you thrive and be at your best.

A place for you

As part of being in a big company your next challenge will always be around the corner - or it could be further afield in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific or the Americas. We’re also big on development. You’ll build your capabilities and skills through a range of training and learning interventions. This could be in Project Management, Process Improvement, Change Management and People Management.

A place you can count on

Every company claims to have great people – and we’re no different! But what unites us as a business is our shared values and a genuine interest in delivering public services. You’ll have early and ongoing exposure to our senior team and to experienced and caring colleagues, giving you the best chance to learn and succeed. You will also be partnered with a mentor who will provide you with additional support and guidance as you develop and grow in your career.

Salary sacrifice allows you to exchange part of your monthly gross salary pre-Tax and National Insurance (NI) in return for Serco providing benefits of the same value which means that you pay less Tax and National Insurance (NI) on your reduced pay. Tax and NI is calculated on your gross salary and because your gross salary is reduced you pay less Tax and NI which means you take home more in your net pay after Tax and NI have been deducted.
